Daydreams and Diaries

Day Dreams and Diaries

“Day Dreams and Diaries”: The Story of Jacqueline Wilson was an exhibition featured at the Museum of Childhood running from April 2014 to November 2014. The exhibition space featured original notebooks, sketchbooks, and childhood toys: school reports, and diaries. There were also illustrations of some of Jacqueline’s well-loved books; including Tracy Beaker, The illustrated mum and Hetty Feather.
The exhibition space was broken into several rooms that were recreated to look like Wilson’s childhood bedroom and sitting room where you could sit on a chaise lounge and write your own story the same way Jacqueline would. Some rooms housed colorful and popping illustrations on the wall illustrated by Nick Shurratt. Walking room to room felt as if I walked into Wilson’s books. Giving the space a playful and imaginative, interactive world of a child.
